Catch up time!

Time to catch up with this week’s latest photography attempts!

Here’s what I’ve been up to in the last week or so, since the last blog post. Continuing the small things theme, with close-ups, details and even an attempt at turning an ordinary photograph into art with the ‘Light at the end of the tunnel’ image.

My favourites this week are the top three, ‘Aroma of nature’, ‘Light at the end of the tunnel’ and ‘Grace’, although I would love to hear what you think too! The most fun to shoot would have to be ‘Flumpy’, purely because the evidence had to be consumed after, of course!

Would love to see what you have been shooting or creating this week as well. As always, any questions, requests, or orders for prints or other items, please contact Rose-Sky Journey Pieces directly. This can be done through this website, by e-mail, or you can also stay updated through our Facebook page and Twitter account.

All these little things

I am the bird you didn’t hear call

The plastic bag lost in the wind

The feather you didn’t see fall.

I’m the first ray of light at dawn

The stain containing a memory

The fabric caught, ripped and not mourned.

I am the wrinkle you work to hide

The chill making hairs stand up tall

The silent tears crashing like waves.

I am the little things ignored

The faceless observer of life

All these little things, I am here.

Above you can find 7 new photographic images created yesterday by Rose-Sky Journey Pieces. Continuing our theme of close-up, macro and making the little things important, interesting and engaging.

Little things make a big difference!

Today’s blog post is continuing on the theme from ‘It’s a small world’….

‘Appreciating small things is a great achievement.’

Here’s ten new close-up and macro photography images for you all to view, all of these where taken either yesterday or the day before, by Rose-Sky Journey Pieces. Our favourite is the eye that has managed to also capture the lens at the same time, but why not let us know what your favourite one is!

For any questions, orders, print or photographic gift enquiries, please contact Rose-Sky Journey Pieces directly. This can be done through this website, by e-mail, or we can also be found on Facebook and Twitter. See our contact page for the full way you can keep in touch!

Yesterday I also started a rather intensive photographic project, based around the macro and intricate theme! It should be interesting to say the least once all the images have been placed together to see the end results. Looking forward to showing the results with everyone soon!

It’s a small world…

Time to catch up with the photography again! This week has been involving lots more photography, and so there’s a lot more of new images!

I’ve been dabbling into close-up and macro photography recently, trying to get closer than we see or notice with our own eyes. The idea behind this being that sometimes we are all guilty of looking at the bigger things, the future things. When really, the small things can be just as important, interesting, engaging and fascinating. I’ve tried taken every day objects in their close-up state, and make them more intriguing to the viewers’ eye.

Why not let us know what you think about the new images?

As usual, any questions, orders or queries about prints or gifts, please contact Rose-Sky Journey Pieces directly. All contact details can be found on this website.

Hoping your week has been as interesting as ours!

Creepy crawlies!

Yesterdays’ ode to photography (in our blog) was really a light-hearted kick in the derriere to get some images shaken out of that camera!

Well here are two of the images that made it out yesterday, both of the creepy crawly theme.

There’s still more to retrieve from the good old memory card, and I’m using working on a sketch at the moment using just a simple 2B pencil.

Hope you enjoy the images, and more updates are on the way soon!

Ode to photography

The memory card says 775,

Yet less than 100 have escaped the camera alive.

If only it were all only point and shoot,

A trilogy of photobooks I could now produce.

So much to upload, to edit, to view.

But wait, what’s that shiny thing over there?

Another lens, a new possibility,

Some more weight to the old camera bag.

The bag lurks and sulks whenever I walk passed,

Begging to know if there’s another camera in toe.

For if not, why is I still in the bag?

Perhaps I should be buried with camera in thy hand.

We compare the brands to which we don’t align,

Then secretly plan upgrades for that next time.

For the child that won’t stay still so you’ve created an artistic blur,

To the intriguing moments you didn’t know were there.

In the end it all vanishes, just by having that one shot,

Capturing the essence of something, rather than letting it be forgot.

Brand, camera, edits, it really don’t matter,

If you got the image that makes you tick,

Then the photography itch continues,

To that next click!
